A fire incident has been reported at Isiolo Boys on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, the Kenya Red Cross said a response team has been activated.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

This comes in the wake of fire outbreaks in schools across the country.

Fire at Isiolo Boys comes barely three days after another inferno was reported at Isiolo Girls High School.

The incident also came days after a fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri killed 21 pupils.

Investigators are still pursuing the matter to find out the cause of the fire.

President William Ruto on Monday held a meeting with leaders from the Interior and Education ministries.

Ruto ordered a speedy conclusion of an investigation into the Hillside Endarasha Academy fire tragedy.

The President directed the two ministries to ensure compliance with school boarding regulations.

Ruto declared a three-day national mourning period following the deaths of pupils at Hillside Endarasha Academy.

He further directed that the Kenyan and the East African Community (EAC) flags be flown at half-mast during the mourning period.

The flags will be flown half-mast from dawn on Monday, September 9, 2024, until sunset on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

This will be done at the State House, all Kenyan diplomatic missions, public buildings, public grounds, all military bases, posts, and stations, all Naval vessels of the Republic of Kenya, and throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Kenya.
