President William Ruto's senior economic adviser Moses Kuria on Friday met with Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi.

During the meeting, the two agreed on irreducible minimums that must be achieved to move the country forward.

According to Kuria, some of the issues discussed include tax reforms, and modernisation of tax systems.

They also discussed the budget related issues and the country debt transparency.

"Economic Turn around is not an option. It is an imperative. At 6am this morning I exchanged view points with Cabinet Secretary National Treasury @CS_HonMbadi.

"We agreed on irreducible minimum that we must achieve include tax reform and modernisation of tax systems, fiscal discipline and living within our means, budget and debt transparency, off balance sheet financing including Revenue Securitization and Public Private Partnerships as well as more efficient utilisation of development Partners Programmes and Projects," Kuria said.

Kuria reminisced his journey with Mbadi from when they were university students to serving in parliament together.

"Together we will deliver for Kenyans," he said.

The meeting comes a few weeks after President William Ruto appointed Kuria his adviser.

Previously, Kuria served as his first Trade Cabinet Secretary before he was move to the Public Service ministry.

He would later on be dismissed after Ruto fired his entire cabinet, retaining only 10 out of the original one.

The President then picked five members of the Opposition party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to replace some of the fired Cabinet Secretaries.

The dismissal of the Cabinet followed Gen Z led protests that called for the dismissal of the entire government.

The protests began as a result of anti-government protests.
