Narok town residents have urged the government to beef up security after several mysterious murders.

The calls came after a 30-year-old man's body was recovered beside the road at Eagles junction, near Maasai Mara University.

Eye witnesses said the man had a deep cut on the head and one of his eyes gouged out.

This is the seventh body recovered by the residents within three months.

Yusuf Hassan accused the police of reluctance hence the many insecurity cases.

“The saddest part is that when a murder happens, no action is taken to arrest the culprit. Insecurity is worrying all of us because we do not know who will be killed next,” he said.

He urged Governor Patrick Ntutu and county commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia to boost security.

Hezbon Nyakundi called for installation of street lights and CCTV cameras in all parts of the town.

“If someone can be killed in our residential area and no action is taken, then there is a big problem,” he said.

A few months ago, two bodies were discovered at Kandas ground and Majengo estate.

Narok county police commander Riko Ngare called for a collaboration to arrest the perpetrators.

He gave out his mobile number and asked security officials to reach out to him directly.
