Shock as man caught in indecent act with cow in Bomet

Detectives in Olbutyo, Bomet, are investigating an incident where a 25-year-old man was found committing an indecent act with a cow.  

According to police, the suspect was brought to the Olbutyo police post by Vincent Munai and 40 other residents of Kapsayalel village.

Munai reportedly found the suspect having an indecent act with his Friesian cow in the shed, police said, at around 3.00 am.

Police say Munai alerted the residents who turned up in large numbers.

The suspect suffered mob injustice.

He had visible injuries on the head and the left leg, police said.

The suspect was taken to the nearby medical facility for treatment and placed in police custody.

He is set to be arraigned in court.

Bestiality, also known as an unnatural act, is considered a felony in the Constitution.

According to Section 162 (b) of the Penal Code, a person found guilty of having carnal knowledge of an animal can be imprisoned for up to 14 years.

Additionally, Section 163 stipulates that anyone attempting to commit any unnatural offence is liable for imprisonment for 7 years.
