ENRICH, Incomedia partner to support digital inclusion for African start-ups

ENRICH in Africa Center (EiA-C) has partnered with Italian software company Incomedia to support African entrepreneurs and SMEs in embracing digital inclusion.

Through the partnership, Incomedia will provide user-friendly, cost-effective website-building tools to entrepreneurs, to enable them to create professional websites and online shops, which will expose their business to local and global markets.

The project targets at least 1,000 African start-ups and small businesses to establish a professional online presence within the first year.

Incomedia Chief Executive Federico Ranfagni noted that their mission has always been to make technology available to all.

“Incomedia has always sought to make technology accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise. Through our partnership with ENRICH in Africa Center, we are thrilled to support African innovators in their journey towards digital transformation,” he said in a statement announcing the partnership.

The two organisations will provide subsidised access to WebSite X5, to make it affordable for African entrepreneurs.

WebSite X5, is a user-friendly platform that allows anyone to create professional websites, blogs, and online stores without writing a single line of code.

It is currently used by over 1.9 million users in more than 120 countries across the world.

The collaboration is poised to bridge the digital divide gap and help African entrepreneurs enhance their brand positioning for expanded market reach.

According to EiA-C manager, Zandile Ntuli, the collaboration will serve to expand opportunities for African businesses.

“At ENRICH in Africa Center, we are always focused on providing African entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to succeed. This partnership with Incomedia opens up new opportunities for African businesses to expand their digital footprint and reach global audiences," Zandile said.

ENRICH in Africa Center (EiA-C) connects and empowers incubators, innovators, researchers, accelerators, investors, and entrepreneurs across Africa and Europe by providing support services, access to funding, and a collaborative network.
