Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has told off her political nemesis stating she wasn’t shaken by critics and propaganda.

Ndeti said she fears only God whom she is responsible to as the creator, acknowledging Machakos electorate who hired her to the office through their votes in 2022 polls.

“I’m not shaken by anybody, I will work for you, Machakos residents. I’m answerable to God and the people of Machakos county and also the nation of Kenya since I also get revenue from the national government. Out of the 100 per cent revenue my administration receives, 15 per cent comes from the national government,” Ndeti said.

She addressed the press at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after jetting in from the United Kingdom on Monday.

“So, whatever we do in Machakos isn’t about Machakos, but Kenya because we also get money from other tax payers in the country,” Ndeti said.

The governor during the presser declared war on cartels who she claimed were used to syphoning public funds. Some she said earlier received money from the devolved government by "supplying air".

“Kwa hivyo, wafisadi, mjue niko na nyinyi,” she said.

Ndeti blamed earlier claims that she and her son Charles Oduwoele had been arrested in Dubai for money laundering related offences on her political nemesis, terming them propaganda intended to politically soil her name ahead of 2027 general election.

Ndeti exuded confidence that no matter what her political enemies say about her, she will steal beat them in the next polls just as she did in 2022.

Responding on the arrests’ claims, the governor said they were neither here nor there.

Ndeti said the propaganda had been coined by people who she didn’t mentioned. She, however, believed they were her political opponents within county.

“Aende aseme nilibeba hiyo pesa mingi wapi. Hi airport ya Kenya, utapita aje na hiyo pesa yote? Uende Dubai transit, uende United Kingdom. Mimi nimekaa ugaibuni kwa muda Zaidi ya miaka kumi. Nimesomea huko, bwana yangu alikua citizen wa UK, kuna vitu mtu hawezi kufanya kama anamjua mwenyezi mungu,” she said.

While asked by a reporter if she knew the individuals behind the claims circulated on social media over the past one week or so, Ndeti responded, “Tutajuana kortini, tutajuana kisheria. Mtu aseme ilikua wapi na hiyo pesa ilitoka wapi.”

“Am I not a government official, am I not a state officer and also national figure and I have a diplomatic passport? If was arrested in the UK, who would be the first person to know. Isn’t it the ambassador who would then inform the Kenyan government?” Ndeti said.
