The drama happened when an unknown man aged 35 years old crept to an officer who was guarding Kwitu DT Sacco in Emali and attacked him before snatching his gun.

Police said the man was armed with a panga that he had concealed by tucking it inside his trousers.

He removed the panga and cut the officer on the forehead inflicting him a deep cut, police said.

The attacker then snatched the officer's AK47 firearm with 30 rounds of ammunition and started running away while shooting to scare off the public.
