A man with epilepsy tragically collapsed and passed away on the roadside in Malaba, Busia County.

His body was discovered on Wednesday morning, hours after his death.

Authorities reported that the man had received treatment for his condition at a hospital the day before and had been discharged.

His body has been transferred to the mortuary at Kocholia Sub-County Hospital for identification and an autopsy.

Officials say such patients need closer care and attention.

They also need medicine to enable them to survive and manage their condition. Police said they are investigating the incident.

In Ugenya’s Ugambe village, a man was found sitting unresponsive on a plastic chair.

Police said they were called to the scene where they found the body of John Omondi, 68 years in a sitting position in front of a gas cooker with charred food on utensils.

It is not clear what caused the death. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Meanwhile, in Malaba, Busia County, one Joseph Atuwa died by suicide.

Police said they found the lifeless body of the deceased in the house hanging from the truss of the roof.

It was established that the deceased used a piece of cloth to hang himself.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the Kocholia sub-county mortuary awaiting autopsy, police said.
