The Teachers’ Service Commission has said it is experiencing technical challenges with its teacher recruitment portal.
The hitch which started moments after the commission declared the teaching vacancies in the service has affected thousands of unemployed teachers across the country.
TSC, in a notice dated October 1, issued a notice inviting applications for 6,000 positions in primary schools, 39,550 in junior secondary schools, and 450 in secondary schools.
The commission directed candidates to apply through its official website www.tsc.go.ke- under the ‘Careers’ section or via teachers online.tsc.go.ke.
The deadline for submission of applications is October 7.
Applicants who have taken to social media to share their frustrations reported receiving an error message.
“An error occurred. Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable. Please try again later,” one of the applicants posted.
In a brief post on its official social media handles, TSC regretted the hitch as it called for patience.
“We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing technical challenges affecting the teacher recruitment portal,” the post dated October 3 reads.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and kindly request your patience as we work diligently to restore the portal as soon as possible.”
The commission has added that the process is free of charge warning applicants of fraudsters out to extort money purporting to assist in recruitment.
