They include two private surveyors and
a driver.
Police said the surveyors sustained
injuries while their driver escaped unhurt following the attack.
Their motor vehicle was torched as
they attempted to survey the NSSF land in DM area near dumpsite within Mlolongo
location, Athi River subcounty on Friday.
The matter was reported to the Mavoko
police station at around noon.
“It was reported that there was a
scene of robbery with violence within DM area at about 12pm. Police from Mavoko
responded immediately to the scene,” a police report seen by the Star shows.
Police said it was established that
private surveyors and a male assistant had gone to survey land, LR 20200, LR 20208 and 337/2921 all owned by
NSSF when they were attacked by suspected goons.
“The goons robbed the complainant who
was the driver of a Mitsubishi and later set it on fire. The team leader and
another person whose identity is yet to be established were assaulted and
robbed of their personal belongings,” police report read.
Police said the complainant was safe
since he managed to escape unhurt.
“The other two are receiving treatment
at a hospital. The survey team wasn’t in the company of police officers against
the advice of NSSF head of security. The scene was visited and necessary action
taken,” police said in their report.
Police have launched investigations into the incident.
