A man who allegedly tried to attack police with bows and arrows was shot and killed in a village in the Keringet area, Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

Police said they had on October 10 dawn gone to arrest the man over a case of grievous harm when the drama happened.

They knocked on his house and he came out while armed with a bow and arrows.

He is said to have shot five arrows toward the officers missing them by a whisker which prompted one of the officers to open fire.

A total of 12 bullets were fired and police explained they were meant to warn him but he did not heed orders to stop and surrender.

He was then shot in the stomach and died on the spot.

The body was moved to Olenguruone Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In Mwingi, Kitui County, a ten-year-old boy was hit and killed by his cousin in a fight in Mangoloma Village.

Witnesses told police the deceased was hit with a blunt object at the back of his head by his cousin in a fight.

The suspect was later cornered by a mob and stoned before being rescued by police.

Police said the suspect is aged 18 and they are investigating murder in the incident.

The body was moved to Mwingi Level Four hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Meanwhile, police are investigating two separate murder incidents in Kisii.

The first incident happened in Kenyerere village where the body of the deceased Joseph Nyamwaya Muhache, 35 was found on a pathway.

Police said they had established that the body had no visible injuries and was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In Bonchura village, the body of Peter Momanyi, 30 was found lying dead beside the road with a deep cut behind his neck and his hands tied with a nylon rope.

The body was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem. No arrests have been made over the incidents.

Elsewhere in Chepalungu, Bomet County, a 70-year-old man died after he had complained of severe chest pain.
