Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is scheduled to attend a church service at the ACK Diocese in Embu today.
The event doubles up as the celebration of 34 years since the establishment of the diocese.
It will be held at St. Mark Teachers' Training College.
A section of leaders allied to him are expected to accompany him.
It is not clear if the Embu senator Alexander Mundigi will grace the event.
He is among the leaders who recently declared support for Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.
"There is no bad blood between Mt Kenya East and Gachagua. What we have only done is to pick of our own (Kindiki) to champion our development needs," he said on September 14.
Gachagua who is currently facing impeachment is scheduled to appear before the Senate this week for the trial.
This is after the National Assembly voted to impeach him with a record 282 MPs supporting the motion.
He is facing 11 charges which include gross violation of the Constitution, promoting ethnic discrimination and undermining national unity through divisive public statements.
He is further accused of contradicting government policies and failing to uphold his duties as Deputy President, thus violating the principle of collective Cabinet responsibility.
