A 22-year-old university student has been found killed in the Kiamunyi area of Nakuru County.
Area chief Wilson Maraga said receipts in her handbag show she left Thika for Nakuru on Saturday afternoon.
“The bus ticket shows she was from Thika and arrived in Nakuru in the evening. She got the ticket at around 1 pm.
Documents found on her show that she is from Nandi South and not in Nakuru,” he told journalists.
He said the killing has sent shockwaves in his area since Kiamunyi rarely experiences such crimes.
“We were shocked to find the body. We are not sure what happened, but we strongly believe she was not killed here, as there are no signs of a struggle at the scene,” he explained.
He said the student could have been killed far away and the body dumped in Kiamunyi.
“The security of the area is not bad. The body was most likely dumped here because there are not so many people around,” he said.
Maraga urged the people in the area to remain calm as officers from the DCI carried out our investigations.
“People in the area should not be worried about the security, but I just want to ask residents to remain calm as DCI conducts investigations,” he stated.
