A 21-year-old man was killed in a fight with his cousin over sugarcane in Turkuito, Kericho County,
According to police, the conflict
arose over a land dispute when 21-year-old Nicholas Kipkoech uprooted sugarcane planted
on his cousin Kelvin Kibet's family land.
Police say this led to a physical
confrontation between the two.
During the altercation, Kibet stabbed Kipkoech in the neck with a sharp object causing severe injuries police said.
The victim was rushed to Kericho
County Referral Hospital but later succumbed to injuries while undergoing
treatment

His body is currently at the same
hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination.
Police officers are actively
seeking the arrest of the known accused.
Police officers in Meru are investigating the
death of a man who was found in a quarry in Igoji, Meru county.
The incident revolves around the discovery
of a deceased man, Dennis Bundi, aged 23, in a quarry located in the
Mutonga sub-location of Afro Bushero, police said.
According to police, the finding
was reported by the landowner who stumbled upon the body while at the quarry.
Police say, upon their discovery,
the land owner promptly notified local authorities.
Police officers arrived at the scene and
confirmed the report, finding Bundi lying face down in the quarry.
A preliminary examination of the
body revealed head injuries, specifically to the forehead and the
back, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Notably, no murder weapon was
recovered at the scene, police said.
In the course of their inquiry,
police officers arrested Patrick Mugendi, who was identified as the last person
seen with Bundi late at night before his death.
Mugendi's arrest was part of efforts to gather
more information regarding the events that transpired leading up to Bundi's
fatal injuries, police said.
The body of Dennis Bundi was taken
to Kanyakine sub-county hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem examination to
determine the exact cause of death.
The case remains open, with
police officers continuing their investigation to uncover the truth behind the
incident.
