Leaders congratulate Kindiki after nomination as DP

The nomination follows the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.

Leaders across the country have taken to social media to congratulate Kithure Kindiki on his nomination as the next Deputy President.

The nomination follows the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.

Among the first to congratulate Kindiki was Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

"My brother Professor Kindiki, my sincere congratulations. To you, history has placed an honour and responsibility accorded to only a few. May God guide you and HE William Ruto as you lead this great country to achieve its tremendous potential," Waiguru said.

Waiguru also used the moment to thank those who supported her as a contender for the position of Deputy President, adding that she was now focused on working toward a better Kenya.

"To those who supported me for this position, I thank you. We must now dedicate our efforts to building a better Kenya under the leadership of HE William Ruto and HE Kindiki Kithure," she said.

East African Legislative Assembly MP Maina Karobia Mwangi commended Kindiki for his leadership.

"Hearty congratulations Prof Kithure Kindiki, the incoming Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. It has been a great run. Kenya shall benefit from your visionary leadership," he said.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah also offered his heartfelt congratulations to Kindiki, urging him to serve with diligence.

“Congratulations, my brother Kindiki Kithure on your appointment as Deputy President. Serve diligently, selflessly, and with zeal to bring the country together under one flag and move the nation forward,” Ichung’wah tweeted.

Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen expressed his enthusiasm for Kindiki’s nomination.

“Congratulations, my friend and brother, Prof Kindiki Kithure, on your nomination by President William Ruto to be our next Deputy President. No one is more deserving of this role to support our President in tackling the various challenges we face as a nation and guiding us to new heights. Godspeed! he said.

Millicent Omanga, stated, "I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved nomination as deputy president! This recognition is a true testament to your dedication, leadership, and the remarkable contributions you've made. Your vision, work ethic, and commitment have always been an inspiration, and I am confident that you will continue to excel in this new role. I wish you great success as you move forward, and I look forward to witnessing all that you will achieve in this exciting new chapter," 

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi also shared his congratulations, stating, "Heartfelt congratulations to my brother, @KindikiKithure, on your nomination as Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. I am confident that you will serve with dedication, humility, and patriotism, fostering unity for our country's progress."

Cotu SG Francis Atwoli, stated, “On behalf of Kenyan workers, let me congratulate Prof Kithure Kindiki following his nomination as Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. Godspeed!”

Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale expressed his confidence in Kindiki's leadership.

“Congratulations to my brother and colleague Prof KindikiKithure on your nomination as Deputy President. I have full trust in your leadership, alongside President @WilliamsRuto, to guide our country towards a prosperous future. Best wishes as you take on this important role!” he said.

Internal Security and National Administration PS Raymond Omollo, expressed his admiration for Kindiki, saying, “Congratulations to my Boss, Prof. @KindikiKithure, on your nomination as the new Deputy President of Kenya. Your relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering dedication to service have led to this well-deserved honour."

Senator Aron Cheruiyot also congratulated Kindiki.

“Congratulations  Prof Kindiki Kithure. A great man with a great soul. A leader who welcomed me to parliament and nurtured me in the tumultuous world of politics. Godspeed as you take up the enormous task of deputizing President William Ruto," he said.

Ruto officially nominated Kindiki for the position of DP.

Speaker Moses Wetang’ula announced the nomination during a special sitting on Friday.
