The mystery surrounding the whereabouts of social media influencer Maverick Aoko has continued with an aide giving an account of her last events.

In a post on her (Aoko) official page, the aide alleges that upon her return to Nairobi some two weeks ago, she found her main door “clobbered at the hinges”.

Aoko, according to the aide, has been residing in the village since her arrest early this year.

She only travelled to Nairobi for meetings and attend court, the commentator says in the post.

Her caretaker and watchman had reported strange men hovering around, asking about her whereabouts, the post further reads.

“She called me panicked. I asked her to take pictures and leave,” the aide recounts adding she decided not to divulge this to anyone to prevent attracting the attention that she was around.

According to the aide, Aoko also had an interview with international media about her arrest ordeal and continued threats.

“After her tweet. she went incognito, which we family and friends thought it normal, perhaps she just wanted to confuse enemies,” she adds

The aide now states that are yet to locate her whereabouts as

“Whom do we report to?” the aide says as she asks police to produce if they might be holding her.

Aoko has been missing for the last five days now.

On Monday, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) called for her immediate release.

Speaking during the tracing of arrested activist Boniface Mwangi at the Kamukunji Police Station, LSK President Faith Odhiambo urged Kenyans to use the society’s hotline to provide any information regarding Aoko's disappearance.

“We have heard that she is missing and we are asking for any information. Our hotline is still working. Please reach out to the LSK. Every life counts,” she said.

“We ask that whoever is holding her that she should be released immediately. Let’s not be a country that we live in intimidation or fear”.

She further urged Kenyans to rally up and upload the rule of law, so every single person feels like they have a right to enjoy their rights fully.

"People might say things that are not pleasant for you, however, there are rules to govern the same. Let us deal with people within the confines of the law," she said.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino added his voice calling for her release.

"Aoko has been missing for days...I have reached out to her family members and close friends, but no one knows where she is,” Babu said.
