Police in Migori are investigating an incident in which a 37-year-old man allegedly attacked and killed his father in Nyang'au village in a dispute over money.

According to police, Margaret Anyango reported that her husband, John Oyugi, was allegedly attacked by their son, Geoffrey Omondi, during a dispute over money.

Police say Oyugi is alleged to have failed to fulfill a financial agreement resulting in Omondi assaulting him.

The victim had severe head injuries, police said.

Oyugi was taken to Rongo Subcounty Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Police investigated the scene and later found John's body in the hospital.

The body was later transferred to Rosewood Mortuary for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, in the Kabras division of Kakamega North, a 69-year-old man was allegedly attacked by someone known to him, resulting in multiple injuries, particularly to his head and fingers.

Police say, the man identified as Charles Mukunyi was initially taken to Malava Subcounty Hospital but was referred to Kakamega Referral Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds upon arrival at the referral hospital, police said.

Police officers responded to the incident, conducting a thorough investigation at the scene and documenting the details of the assault.

 The body was moved to Orthopedic Kakamega mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the attack and the identity of the assailant.

Elsewhere in Bura, Tana River County, a body of an unidentified man was found by residents lying lifeless.

Police said residents of Roka village raised an alert after discovering the body of a man estimated to be around 50 years old.

Officers from Bangale Police Station visited and processed the scene, collecting evidence and taking elimination fingerprints in an effort to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

The body was moved to Garissa General and Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination and identification.

The investigation is ongoing, as authorities seek to uncover more details about the man's death and any potential foul play involved.
