Ousted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife Dorcas have expressed their feelings after Kithure Kindiki took over as President William Ruto’s new deputy.
The two took to social media where they posted different messages and a picture of them with their two sons Keith Ikinu and Kevin Gachagua at their home in Nyeri.
“Home sweet home. Thanking God for the gift of my family. The smell of fresh grass, sounds of chirping birds is what a happy family needs,” Gachagua posted.
Gachagua said he will remain forever grateful to God, for giving him a loving and supportive family.
“We are happy to be home, where I was born and brought up!”
“I can’t wait for the morning to take my walk in my home forest, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt Kenya as I thank God for His kindness.”
Dorcas declared “We give God all the glory” and posted the same picture on her social media account.
She said it is easy for one to look at the challenges and circumstances surrounding them and forget the cardinal rule of a believer.
“Today, my family and I choose to give a prayer of thanksgiving, understanding that, God remains sovereign, whether He saves us from fire or not, Daniel 3:16-18.,” she said.
“We give thanks to God for His awesome faithfulness. We call Him, Ebenezer, for this far we celebrate Him. We have seen His mercy and experienced His goodness. Glory and honour be to His Holy name.”
She further cited Job 13:15-16 “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless person would dare come before him.”
Kindiki was sworn in as the new Deputy President after a court lifted orders barring his inauguration following legal challenges by Gachagua, who was impeached by parliament.
Ruto, who nominated Kindiki as his deputy, as well as diplomats and thousands of guests attended the event.
Friday was declared a public holiday for Kindiki’s inauguration.
