Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has updated his social media bios to mark his transition to private life.
The swift changes were made just hours after ex-Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki was sworn into office to assume the role at a ceremony held Friday at KICC.
This signaled the end of Gachagua's tenure in the prominent political role that he held for barely two years.
"Husband. Father. Kenyan" the bio on his official Facebook and X accounts now reads.
He also removed a cover photo in which he was captured with his former boss President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto alongside his wife during the inauguration ceremony at Kasarani stadium in September 2022.
He replaced it with a photo he is pictured facing Mt Kenya.
As it stands, Gachagua cannot stand for any political seat after the Senate upheld his impeachment.
In a post on November 1, Gachagua also shared a photo with his family at his Mathira home.
"Home Sweet Home! Thanking God for the gift of my family. The smell of fresh grass, sounds of chirping birds is what a happy family needs,” he wrote as shared a picture of his family including his wife Dorcas and their two sons.
He said he will forever remain grateful to God, for giving him a loving and supportive family.
"We are happy to be home, where I was born and brought up," he said adding he could not wait for the morning to take his signature walk in Hombe Forest to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt Kenya.
On the other hand, Kindiki also updated his bio to his new status from Interior CS to Deputy President.
In his speech during the swearing-in ceremony, Ruto for the first time lifted the lid on his fallout with Gachagua, disclosing that he (former DP) deserted duty.
“I have almost become a lonely voice in the Executive, especially within the presidency, speaking about our programmes and elaborating on our work,” he said.
“I need your voice. I need your intellect to help me and members of our Cabinet to profile and articulate the things we are doing,” Ruto told Kindiki.
