Former President Donald Trump of the Republican party faced off with Vice President Khamala Harris of the Democrats and he is on cusp victory in preliminary results announced.
Voters in each state chose electors to the Electoral College, who will then elect a president and vice president for a term of four years.

Wambui and Aggrey, a couple, strongly vouched for Trump's presidency.
“Kamala’s values go against God and if people want to immigrate they should do it the right way,” Wambui said
President Trump overturned Roe v. Wade and put up sanctions for abortions in the US through the Senate
Steven, another strong Trump supporter, said he backs him because of his dictatorial demeanour.
“Dictatorship is the best way to rule. I mean what has democracy done for us?” he posed.
Sandra, a Kamala Harris, supporter said she supports her because she wants a black female to win
“I think Kamala should win because her policies are solid unlike Trump” she said
Alexander who also supported Harris said:
“A change is needed and it will be nice to be governed by a woman”.
While others expressed mixed reactions stating that they have not been able to follow up with the US election debates and news polls, others are deeply concerned with local political news
“I didn’t bother to follow the US election ask me about my country and my leader Raila Odinga who betrayed” Charles, a boda boda rider said.
“I just want him to retire because he is part of the mess we are currently in."
Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat) and former President Donald Trump (Republican) need at least 270 electoral votes to win.
By the time of going to press, Trump was three electoral votes away from winning the presidency having garnered 267 of the total 538.
