The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 100 job
openings in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its fresh graduates.
In a notice dated November 8, 2024, NYS stated that the opportunities are facilitated by their outsourcing company in Kenya.
"It is with great pleasure we inform our esteemed graduates about promising opportunities for fabricators in the United Arab Emirates facilitated by our well-established and registered manpower outsourcing company in Kenya," NYS stated.
The 100 welders will serve for a two-year contract which is renewable.
The welders will earn Sh50,930 basic salary and a food allowance of Sh12,293.
Interested persons must be qualified welders or professional metal fabricators.
Those who don't qualify but can work as a tradesman will need a recent and comprehensive work history as a fabricator or welder.
Candidates are required to possess an updated metal
fabricator CV, a Diploma or trade certificate in welding and fabrication and two to three years of proven work experience.
Interested applicants must also be proficient in operating fabrication equipment, have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and be familiar with various welding techniques.
The notice further states that accommodation and transport, medical insurance, employment visa and a resident’s permit shall be provided by the hiring company.
However, NYS informed that selected candidates will bear the pre-departure cost and medical examination cost.

Practical interviews are scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024, in Nairobi.
Candidates who meet the job qualification requirements are set to receive detailed information on the specific location and time for the physical interviews.
NYS is charged with the responsibility of training young men and women to serve the nation through the deployment of service members in tasks of national importance and service to the nation.
In August 2023, NYS announced 993 job vacancies in Australia for its graduates.
