Another suspect in murder of Willis Ayieko arrested

The arrested suspect’s house was positively identified during a scene reenactment exercise by one of the previously arrested suspects.

The late Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko

 Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested another suspect in connection with the brutal murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko.

The suspect was apprehended at his hideout in, Bondo sub-county, Siaya County.

According to the DCI detectives, one of the previously arrested suspects played a major role in the nabbing of the latest suspect.

The arrested suspect’s house was positively identified during a scene reenactment exercise by one of the previously arrested suspects.

As per the DCI, the suspect’s house was identified as the scene where the late Ayieko was allegedly tortured before being ultimately killed.

The detectives alleged that the body of the deceased was discovered some meters away from the arrested suspect’s house.

“The body of the deceased was recovered less than 400 meters from the suspect's house which is located in Luanda Doho, Kisa East, Kakamega County,” read part of the post.

The suspect is undergoing processing and will be soon charged in court with the murder of the HR manager.

Detectives revealed that they are pursuing at least six suspects in connection with the murder of Ayieko.

So far, four suspects have been arrested, with one of them being placed at the scene of the attack.

Director of Directorate of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin had previously disclosed that they are targeting a gang of six to seven people.

“We have not been able to conclude that this was the motive of the killing, but we are progressing well. We are targeting a gang of six to seven people, and we are zeroing in on them,” he said.

Ayieko is now set to be laid to rest on Saturday.

He will be buried at his Ong’iende village (Bob’s ranch) at the Central Alego location in Siaya.

A funeral service, according to the family, was held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi before the body was moved to his home.
