9 shortlisted for PSC vice chair, 58 for members posts

Nine people have been shortlisted for the position of Public Service Commission vice chairperson.

A notice by the Public Service Commission on Monday also indicated that 58 others have been shortlisted for the commission members' posts.

Candidates shortlisted for the position of Vice-Chairperson include Nelly Peris Ashubwe (Kakamega), Stella Wawuda Tayo (Taita Taveta), Kimonye Mary Wanjira (Meru), Anne Maria Chepkosgei Rono Ngetich (Nandi), Dr. Fauzia Yusuf Shani (Kajiado) and Dr. Jane Musangi Mutua (Kitui).

Others include Prof. David Gichoya (Kirinyaga), Dr. Bahati Kizindaro Keranga Mwita (Migori)and Dr. Kennedy Ochieng Olung’o (Laikipia).

Interviews for the position will be held on Monday, November 18 and Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Interviews for members' posts will be held between Tuesday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Interviews will not be held on weekends.

The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC), fourth (4th) floor, boardroom, Nairobi on the dates and times indicated on the schedule.

Candidates should report at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled interview time.

During the interviews, candidates are required to carry original copies of their national identity cards, academic and professional certificates and transcripts.

They are required to have valid clearance from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Director of Criminal Investigation (Police Clearance), a Registered Credit Reference Bureau and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

They should also carry a Self-Declaration form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti–Corruption Commission (EACC),  a letter of recognition of qualification from the Commission of University Education (CUE) for candidates who possess degrees from foreign universities and any other supporting documents and testimonials.

PSC has invited members of the public to avail any information relating to any of the shortlisted candidates through sworn affidavits to the Chairperson, selection panel, at Harambee House. They should be received before Monday November 18, 2024.

“Names and qualifications of all the applicants for the position of Vice-Chairperson and seven members of the Public Service Commission are available on the websites of the Public Service Commission (https://publicservice.go.ke) and chief of staff and head of the Public Service (https://headofpublicservice.go.ke),” the notice reads.

The Public Service Commission is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 233(1) of the Constitution. It consists of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and seven Commissioners appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.
