Police are investigating an incident in which a 16-year-old boy was stabbed and killed in a quarrel over two doves in a village in Eldoret.
The suspected assailant is a 12-year-old boy who is said to have stabbed him in the chest using a kitchen knife in Bukwa village.
The incident happened on November 9 when the two argued over the possession of two doves they had apparently bought as pets.
The assailant allegedly reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the left side of the chest killing him, police and villagers said.
The injured juvenile succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, police said.
The suspected assailant was arrested as the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Kinango, Kwale County, the body of a 73-year-old woman was found outside her house.
Police said the incident happened in Katundani "A" village within Ndavaya location on November 11 and the deceased was identified as Nga Mwilu Kithuku.
The body had a deep cut on the head probably caused by a sharp object.
Police said they had established that the deceased who was living alone, had been murdered by unknown persons.
The body was removed to Kinango Subcounty Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination and other investigations.
A hunt for the suspected killers is ongoing, police said.
In Sabaki village, Malindi, a 23-year-old boy was killed in an attack by unknown assailants. The incident happened on November 10, police said.
According to police, the victim, Nicodemus Katana Baya had his left hand chopped off at the wrist joint and had head injuries. He succumbed to the injuries, police said.
The body was found lying on the ground in an incompleted building and moved to the Malindi Subcounty Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
The deceased is suspected to have been a member of an illegal gang, police said.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive and those behind the same, police added.
