An ad-hoc committee report has recommended the sacking of all county executive members in Nandi County over allegations of corruption and incompetence.
The committee chaired by Kapsabet MCA Benjamin Matata made the recommendations following its investigation into allegations of graft and incompetence.
The committee was formed to investigate the county executives for possible gross violations of the constitution and applicable laws in the execution of its mandate.
Matata said the committee was satisfied with the findings of the investigations leading to the recommendations for the sacking of 9 CECs.
“In light of the findings contained in the report against each of the county executive committee members and taking into account the grounds and particulars stated against each of the executives, the committee recommends that Governor Sang dismisses the listed executives from office,” said part of the recommendations.
The nine Nandi CECs are Hillary Kiptanui (Finance), Ruth Koech (Health), Drice KIbet (Transport and Public Works), Bernard Kiplimo (Agriculture), Alfred Lagat (Trade and Tourism), Philemon Bureti (Lands), Scholastica Tuwei (Education) Isiah Keter (Administration and Public Service) and Rose Eboso of sports.
The committee has tabled a 280-page report which also recommended the sacking of all county chief officers in charge of the same nine departments headed by the executives.
Three county directors have also been recommended for suspension and MCAs also want the county public service board disbanded with immediate effect.
EACC has also been asked to undertake a probe against the county public service board for the period between the years 2022 and 2024.
Members of the committee have also recommended investigations against the executives over allegations of failing to account of millions of shillings for projects in the county.
The report which has been tabled at the county assembly is being debated by MCAs who will then take a vote to either adopt or reject it.
Police cancelled a license for public protests which had been
planned to force MCAs to adopt the report as it is.
