The Inspector General of Police  Douglas Kanja, made an unexpected  visit to two critical police installations: the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) Headquarters in Athi River and the Kitengela Police Station in Kajiado County

During his visit, IG Kanja reiterated his commitment to transforming police stations into centres of excellence.

He emphasized the need for comprehensive training programs and mental health support for officers, aiming to foster environments where police officers can perform their duties effectively while maintaining their well-being.

Through these visits, the IG reaffirmed his dedication to the reform agenda, focusing on better training, mental health support for officers, and improving the infrastructure of police stations to create more efficient and community-friendly environments.

The IG was accompanied by a delegation of senior officers from the National Police Service (NPS), including Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat, leader of administration police Gilbert Masengeli Also present were Commandant Kiganjo Main Campus Nyale Munga, Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police (SAIG), and NPS Spokesperson  Resila Onyango.
