A lorry driver died in a tragic road accident along the Keroka- Sotik road.

According to the police, the driver of the lorry lost control of the vehicle while navigating the road.

As a result, the lorry veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a car driven by a 34-year-old man identified as Brian Onuko.

Police say the collision struck the car on the right side of the driver's rear door, which caused severe damage to the vehicle.

Following the impact, the lorry landed in a ditch and overturned.

The driver of the lorry sustained serious injuries from the crash.

He was pronounced up[on arrival at Keroka Level Four Hospital, police said.

The body was later taken to St. Joseph Nyansiongo Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending autopsy.

Other passengers aboard the lorry sustained general body pain as a result of the accident.

They were rushed to Keroka Level Four Hospital for treatment.

The two vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged and are currently being held at the police station, awaiting further inspection.

A bodaboda rider and his pillion passenger were Thursday lynched in a suspected robbery incident.

According to police, the two suspects targeted a customer who had just purchased at the Naivas Supermarket along Thika Road.

The pillion passenger allegedly snatched the mobile phone from the unsuspecting shopper and took off towards the Kasarani area.

They were however cornered by members of the public who went after them.

The two were subjected to mob justice leaving them with serious injuries.

The two escaped death by a whisker after police on patrol heard of the commotion and came to their rescue.

The stolen mobile phone was however recovered and efforts to trace the victim of the robbery incident were unsuccessful
