Two die by suicide in Machakos, Busia

Crime Scene.

A 42-year-old man died by suicide at his home in Miani Estate, Mumbuni area of Machakos County on Tuesday.

His brother found the deceased identified as Nickson Makau hanging from the roof of the house.

A scarf was found around his neck.

It was established that the deceased was suffering from a chronic illness and had been on medication for a long time.

The body, which had no physical injuries was moved to Montezuma Funeral Home pending autopsy.

In another similar incident in Mau Summit Nakuru County, 27-year-old Simon Mwangi hanged himself in his house after he picked up a quarrel with his wife.

After the quarrel, the wife opted to vacate their homestead leaving the husband, who appeared drunk, alone and went to sleep in the mother-in-law’s house.

According to the police report, the wife went to check on him and found that he had hanged himself with a manila rope around his neck.

The body was moved to the Molo sub-county awaiting autopsy.

In a separate incident, a man identified as Nelson Sifuna stabbed 28-year-old Metrine Simiyu in Busia.

The incident happened at Joy Valley bar in Kamatuni Butula, Busia County on November 13, 2024.

According to the police report, Metrine was stabbed after a dispute emerged between her and Nelson.

She immediately fell and succumbed to the injuries instantly. The police visited the scene, and her body was moved to the county referral hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
