Detectives believe the murder of Wells Fargo human resource manager Willis Ayieko was the culmination of a violent robbery that went bad.
After talking to some of the suspects who were directly involved in the robbery and murder, the detectives say they believe Ayieko was badly wounded in the process of being beaten by the killers.
The main suspect in the murder, Robert Wakolo, now dead, is said to have played a key role in the murder.
Wakolo was a trained boxer and was linked to a number of robberies and murder in the region.
He is said to have hit Ayieko’s head against the wall as he forced him to reveal details of his banks and M-Pesa pin.
The injuries turned deadly as he bled internally forcing Wakolo and his accomplices to device ways of disposing the body.
Wakolo called his brother, who was in Kisumu, and asked him to come to the scene for a mission.
Victor Okoth is among those set to answer to murder and robbery with violence charges.
Seven suspects were linked to the killing, which occurred between October 18 and 23 in Siaya.
Two of the suspects were shot and killed as police hunted down the gang also linked to other incidents in the area.
A 52-year-old man who helped in the disposal of the body of Ayieko was November 12 arrested in a police operation in Kakamega. Police said Samuel Ongweso was in Doho area, Khisa West during the murder of Ayieko.
He is said
to have helped with the disposal
