Interviews for candidates seeking to replace EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak officially commence today.
Mbarak who has been at the helm of the anti-graft body since 2019 is set to end his term on January 19 after concluding his six-year term.
A total of 14 candidates from 172 are battling it out for the job. They are Stephen Ngowa, Doreen Muthaura, Jackson Mue, Joseph Onyango, Paul Maina, Victor Okongo, Peter Lomulen and Obadiah Keitany. Others are John Ole Moyaki, David Too, Abdi Mohamud, Justa Mwangi, Mohamed Mmaka and Waweru Karanja.
EACC commissioners led by the chairperson David Oginde will conduct the interviews at the Public Service Commission House in Nairobi.
Muchai murder case
A High Court in Nairobi will today rule on an application in which suspects accused of murdering former Kabete MP George Muchai have challenged charges of robbery with violence.
The suspects are arguing that the charges are unconstitutional.
Nairobi County Employee case
Court of Appeal to hear an application by EACC challenging the High Court decision that allowed a junior Nairobi county employee to keep Sh643 million.
The anti-graft agency had flagged the funds as proceeds of crime and unexplained wealth.
RTAI press briefing
The Regional Training on Artificial Intelligence (RTAI) and the Rule of Law for African Judicial Operators is set to hold a press conference.
It will be held at the Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi.
