Shooting incident

A fisherman was shot and killed in an attack in the Kibish area, Turkana County.

Police said gunmen believed to be Dassnach raiders targeted and killed Nakale Keyia at the Lake Turkana shores.

The body with bullet wounds was found on November 19 long after the incident had happened, police said.

The motive of the killing is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations amid tension and fears of retaliation.

In Kakuma, Turkana, a man was arrested and an AK47 rifle was found on him in a police operation.

A victim of a robbery with violence reported that he had spotted a robbery suspect who had robbed him of his motorcycle in June 2024.

When the suspect saw him, he tried to escape but was cornered by members of the public, where he was arrested and escorted to the police station.

Upon interrogations, he led the officers to Natila village, where one suspected stolen motorcycle was recovered.

On further interrogation, police said, he led the police to Nakuangat village, where an AK47 rifle with 13 rounds of ammunition was recovered.

The suspect was expected to face robbery with violence charges, police said.

In Naivasha, a driver was robbed of his lorry in an attack.

The driver said he had delivered potatoes from Eldoret town to Marikiti in Nairobi.

Upon delivery, he got another customer who told him that he had carrots to be delivered from Kinungi in Naivasha to Eldoret town.

On arrival at Inungi, they were joined by two other men who were to lead them to where the carrots were to be packed.

The three men turned against the driver, attacked and tied him with a rope, and ordered him to hand over the keys of the lorry which was driven in an unknown direction by unknown people.

They left him tied in the Kinungi area at midnight after robbing him of his mobile phone and Sh3,750.

Police are pursuing the suspects for recovery of the lorry.
