Police are investigating an incident in which the body of a middle-aged man was found dumped at Marumbasi Village in Sigowet location, Kericho County.
Locals said the deceased, a resident of the neighbouring Chemegong Village, is suspected to have been killed on Saturday night before his body was dumped in a thicket on a farm in Marumbasi.
The body was discovered on Sunday, December 15.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police who attended the scene said.
The man was reportedly last seen with friends at a bar in Corner Trading Center on Saturday night.
Police said one suspect was arrested in connection with the incident and is assisting the police with investigations.
The matter was reported at Sondu Police Station, after which officers moved the body to Sigowet Hospital mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
In the Gita area, Kisumu, a man aged 18 was stabbed and killed in a fight.
Police said Dennis Madega Odida was stabbed on the left side of the chest and rushed to Goibei Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The motive of the attack was still unknown, police said.
The body was moved to St. Monica Hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
The suspect behind the murder is on the run and police said a hunt on him is ongoing.
In Kaloleni, Kilifi County, a 70-year-old man was found dead in Kagombani village.
The deceased was identified as Kitsao Ngao.
His lifeless body was discovered with multiple sharp wound injuries to the head and neck.
The deceased body was moved to Kilifi Hospital morgue for a postmortem examination.
Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the murder.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, police said.
In the Subukia area, Kericho County, a 35-year-old man was lynched by a mob on claims he was caught stealing a gas cylinder and other electronics.
Police said the deceased was also accused of stealing a decoder, an extension cable, and a frying pan in the Saturday afternoon incident.
A mob attacked him with stones and sticks killing him on the spot.
Police were called and moved the body to the Nyahururu Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.
Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for action.
