President William Ruto commenced his development tour of the western region by launching the issuance of bonuses for sugarcane farmers at the Mumias Sugar Company.

It is the first time farmers are receiving the annual pay.

Speaking during a past event, Ruto stated that the bonus is part of a government initiative to revitalize the sugar sector.
