Merishaw School, located along Isinya-Namanga Road in Kajiado County, has made a remarkable entry into Kenya's education landscape. The boys' school outshone established high school giants in the country to become the top-performing institution in the recently released 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. Under the leadership of former Alliance High School Principal David Kariuki, Merishaw School achieved an impressive mean score of 10.5686, equivalent to an A- (minus)

Merishaw School, which prides itself on transforming boys into men of purpose and integrity, ousted academic heavyweights such as Alliance High School, which came in second with a mean score of 10.31, Kapsabet Boys came in third with a mean score of 10.145 with Kenya High holding fourth position with a mean score of 10.145.

This achievement is particularly significant as it marks Merishaw School's inaugural participation in the national examinations, having been founded in 2022.

Announcing the examination results, Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Ogamba said the number of students qualifying for public universities in 2024 increased compared to 2023, and Merishaw School was no exception. All 51 students in the school’s pioneer KCSE cohort attained grades qualifying them for university admission, achieving a minimum of C+ and above.

 Notably, seven students scored straight A’s:


  1. Kamau Nate Gitonga – 84 points
  2. Cyril Baraka Onyango – 84 points
  3. Joshua Githinji Kirimi – 83 points
  4. Mburu David JohnBosco – 82 points
  5. Mwaura Justin Kihiko – 81 points
  6. Wambuga Charles Christiano – 81 points
  7. Yasir Mohammed Elmi – 81 points


In addition to these outstanding results, other students performed exemplary, and the distribution of grades included:


  • ·         23 students scoring A-
  • ·         16 students achieving B+
  • ·         1 student with a B-
  • ·         1 student attaining a C+
