The National Assembly's mid-term retreat is set to commence today in Nakuru.
The week-long meeting brings together the leadership of the House, the House Business Committee, Chairpersons of House Committees, and all the MPs.
With the theme 'Marshalling House Business: Progress Made and Lessons Learned,' the retreat will provide an opportunity for the MPs to discuss House business, MPs' welfare, and the role of Parliament in the integration of the East African Community (EAC).
They will also address critical discussions on the state of the economy and explore strategies to tackle the challenges posed by Kenya's growing youth population.
EACC annual report launch
EACC will today release its annual report of its activities for the financial year 2023/2024.
The report outlines the commission’s activities, achievements, and financial performance for the period under review.
Commission’s chairperson David Oginde and CEO Abdi Mohamud will attend the event.
Confédération Africaine de Football media briefing
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe is scheduled to address the media today.
He is set to announce developments around the upcoming CHAN to be held in August among other issues.
He will be joined by TotalEnergies chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanné. The event will be held at Hyatt Regency, Tanzania at 5 pm.
Ex-Savannah Clinker Sh4.5 billion case
The High Court will today issue directions in a case in which ex-Savannah Clinker Boss Benson Ndeta is challenging his prosecution over Sh4.5 billion fraud charges.
The matter is listed before Justice Bahati Mwamuye.
Ndeta was charged before a Magistrates court with conspiracy to commit a felony, obtaining execution of a security by false pretence and uttering false documents.
He denied the charges but before the court could deliver his ruling on his bail application, he obtained an order from the High Court blocking his prosecution.
Justice Mwamuye at the time ordered his release pending the determination of the application he had filed.
