Former Roots party presidential running-mate Justina Wamae is mourning the passing of her mother Jeniffer Wambui Kinyanjui Wamae.
In an emotional tribute, Wamae shared the heartbreaking news on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
"Confirmed. My Mummy is no more. Thank you God for the time you gave us Jeniffer Wambui Kinyanjui Wamae," she wrote.
Details regarding her passing remain undisclosed, but tributes have begun pouring in from friends and well-wishers.
"My sincere condolences Justina. May mum rest in peace," Fred Indimuli said.
"Sorry for the loss. May she rest in everlasting peace," Koech said.
"May you be comforted and may her soul rest in peace," Irungu Macharia said.
Kaba Methu Senator Nyandarua: "So sorry Mhesh for this huge loss. May the Lord comfort you and your family for this loss.
Mca Kamau Ndung'u: "My sincere condolences mhesh, may the Lord comfort you during this hard time and may momma rest in peace."
Ruth Boaz Music, "Woooi. Comfort to you mheshimiwa. That will be a scar that will never heal. May God give you enough grace to cope."
Wamae was Professor George Wajackoya’s running mate under the Roots party in the 2022 general election.
Wamae later exited the Roots Party and severed links with Wajackoya after the polls.
The Registrar of Political Parties had in September 2023 confirmed that Wamae was not a registered member of the political party by then.
