Uhuru was handed the role in September 2022.

His address will come ahead of the planned joint meeting between the EAC and SADC regional blocs.

The meeting, to be held in Tanzania, will be co-chaired by President William Ruto who is the EAC chairperson, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Probe after supermarket employee found dead

Detectives will today start investigations on an incident in which an employee of one of the leading supermarkets was found dead in his house in the Mwiki area, Nairobi.

Elijah Mungai Ndichu had not reported to work since February 1 and it was until February 3 when his body was found.

This came after some of his colleagues who were concerned about his failure to report to work went to check on him at his house.

The workers told police they found his door locked from inside, which forced them to break in.

It was then that they found his body lying on the floor with blood oozing from body openings.

Police say they are investigating the incident and no arrest has been made so far.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
