This week began with activities ranging from political, social and international events.
The week saw President William Ruto spend one week in the North Eastern region for a development tour.

President William Ruto embarked on a week-long tour of the North Eastern region.
The Head of State was accompanied by his deputy Kithure Kindiki among other leaders. He traversed three counties including Mandera, Garissa and Wajir.
During his trip, Ruto signed a Presidential Proclamation to officially abolish Identification Card vetting for residents of the Northeastern region.
The President said the move would see the residents of Northern Kenya acquire national identification documents with ease.

Police arrive in Haiti
The fourth contingent of Kenyan police officers arrives in Haiti for the Multinational Security Support Mission/MSS
The fourth contingent of Kenyan police officers arrived in Haiti for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS).
The team is comprised of an elite all-female SWAT team that is a highly skilled tactical unit bringing specialised expertise to the field.
Like their male counterparts, the SWAT team is expected to enhance operations by collaborating with the Haitian National Police (HNP).

Nairobi River clean up

Youth under the Climate WorX initiative have cleaned half of the targeted 47km stretch under the Nairobi River restoration programme.
The government recruited 20,000 youth under the Climate WorX initiative to restore the river, which cuts through several settlement areas including Mukuru Kwa Reuben slums.

Climate WorX initiative is a flagship environmental and employment programme aimed at rehabilitating critical ecosystems, particularly urban river corridors while creating job opportunities for Kenyan youth.
The programme launched by President William Ruto in September 2024 was developed in response to severe flooding along riparian areas, which led to the displacement of residents in Mukuru Kwa Reuben, Mathare, Kibra, and Dandora.

1998 US Embassy bombing memorial

Victims and survivors of the 1998 US Embassy bombing attended a thanksgiving prayer service to mark 27 years of pain.
The event was held at Bomb Blast Memorial Park from 9 am on Friday.
They carried flowers and candles in remembrance of the victims of the bomb blast.
