National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to rule on House majority question today.

There was confusion at the House Tuesday when a section of the members of the Azimio la Umoja coalition led by Minority leader Junet Mohamed occupied the seats reserved for the majority.

This follows the recent court ruling declaring Azimio as the majority party.

There were, however, mixed reactions over the ruling during a debate with nominated MP Sabina Chege questioning if Azimio still exists.

She argued that some of the parties left.


Elected leaders' performance report

Research firm, InfoTrak, is scheduled to release a performance index for elected leaders today.

The survey, titled CountyTrak Performance Index which is in its fifth edition, was conducted between October and December 2024.

It involved a sample size of 59,600 respondents and covered all 47 counties, 290 constituencies, and 1,450 wards.

The survey will shed light on the best-performing members of the National Assembly (MPs), the best-performing senators, the best performing Woman Representatives and the most improved Senators and MPs.

The Index serves as a citizen scorecard, providing an objective assessment of the performance of the county governments

The event will be held at the Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi from 11 am-1 pm.


NACADA report of the status of drugs and substance

National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) will today unveil a report on the status of drugs and substance use in universities in Kenya.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen will preside over the launch.

It will be held at the Bomas of Kenya.


CBET results

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos is expected to release the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) assessment results.

The event is set for KICC from noon.


Mlolongo 3 missing persons

The court will today hear a case involving the Mlolongo three missing persons.

The Director of Public Prosecutions wants out of the case saying they were improperly joined in the matter.

The matter is listed before Justice Chacha Mwita.
