A
35-year-old man was stabbed and injured during a robbery mission in the Kariadudu area, Kariobangi, Nairobi.
Police
said the victim suffered multiple stab wounds in the back and neck as he fought
off suspects attacking him on Tuesday, February 18.
Police said he lost the fight and fell on the ground before the gang grabbed his two mobile phones and other valuables.
The gang escaped the scene.
Police
established he was attacked by two individuals armed with crude weapons
including knives.
The injured victim was rushed to Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital for treatment.
On Wednesday morning, police said he was in stable condition.
Efforts
to trace the attackers are ongoing, police said.
Cases of
armed robberies have been on the rise amid police efforts to contain the trend.
Area
residents want more police patrols to contain the attacks.
Police
usually advise victims of robberies to cooperate with their attackers for their safety.
This is
after it emerged some victims were left with serious injuries while trying to
fight off their attackers.
Others were left dead, police said.
Police said they are pursuing criminals behind the
attacks.
Meanwhile,
a man was shot and wounded during a mission to arrest him in Tigoni, Kiambu
county.
The
victim had earlier turned violent and threatened to kill some of his relatives.
The
relatives reported the matter to police prompting a team to visit there.
Police
said when a team arrived in Kibaa village, they found the suspect trying to set
their house on fire.
The
police claim when the suspect saw them in the February 17 night drama, he
aggressively charged towards them intending to injure them.
This
forced one of the officers to shoot in the air to scare him.
In the
process, the suspect was shot and wounded in the right leg and was rushed to
Tigoni Level 4 Hospital for medical treatment.
Police said the suspect will be cared for before being grilled for further processing.
