
The family of the late former IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati will today address the press regarding the funeral arrangements.
Chebukati passed away Friday, February 21 at a Nairobi hospital after a long illness.
Family spokesperson Eric Nyongesa who addressed the press Friday at the Lee funeral home in Nairobi declined to provide details on the cause of his death saying the family was yet to meet the doctors.
Ruto Coast tour
President William Ruto will today commence his development tour of the coastal region.
Speaking on Friday, February 21, Ruto revealed details of his visit, highlighting a range of development initiatives aimed at benefiting the region.
"I am here until Saturday next week for several development activities," he said during the burial ceremony of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi’s father in Kilifi.
During his seven-day trip, the President is expected to visit Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Taita Taveta, and Tana River counties.
Ruto last toured the coast in July 2024 when he launched several development projects. His latest visit is his first aggressive development tour since the formation of the broad-based government.
One key issue on his agenda is addressing the squatter problem in the region.
UNRHC summit
The 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) begins today in Geneva, Switzerland.
The session brings together leaders, human rights groups and representatives from across the globe.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will represent the country in the meeting.
MPs to visit Malulu Injendi home
The Clerk of the National Assembly Samuel Njoroge is scheduled to visit the home of the late Malava MP Malulu Injendi to offer condolences.
He will be accompanied by members of the National Assembly Service Board of Management and members of the Speaker’s Panel.
A joint press conference by the National Assembly and State House will be held at the venue on the ongoing burial arrangements scheduled for March 4, 2025.
