President William Ruto will today continue his coastal tour with a visit to Kwale County.
Ruto who will be in the region for the entire week to inspect and launch various development projects is accompanied by his deputy Kithure Kindiki among other elected leaders and Cabinet Secretaries.

He began his tour on Monday, February 24, in Mombasa.

On Friday, he will preside over signing an agreement with the African Export-Import Bank towards establishing the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mombasa. 
Ruto said the Bank will contribute Sh30 billion as an initial amount for the project.

TUK students demo
Technical University of Kenya (TUK) students are set to stage a protest at the Ministry of Education offices in Nairobi to force the management to reopen the institution.

Early this month when the exams were to get underway, the staff members sustained their protests by holding peaceful demonstrations in the streets of Nairobi.

This forced the management to suspend diploma and undergraduate examinations which had been scheduled to start on Monday, February 3-15.

On Monday, Higher Education Principal Secretary Beatrice Inyangala said the government was actively engaging all relevant stakeholders, including students to expeditiously resolve all pending issues.

She stated that a Technical Committee has been established to work with TUK management and other key stakeholders.

CGIAR Science Week 2025 media briefing

The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) will hold a media briefing on food security, climate resilience, and agricultural innovation ahead of the April 7-12 event.

CGIAR is a global partnership that unites international organizations engaged in research about food security.

Executive Managing Director Ismahane Elouafi and KALRO Director General Eliud Kireger will be the key speakers.

With food systems facing growing threats from climate change and global hunger, CGIAR Science Week 2025, co-hosted by KALRO, will bring over 2,000 experts to Nairobi.
