People Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua has expressed her readiness to form an alliance with any political leader ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to Karua, this also includes former Prime Minister Raila Odinga whom she worked with in the 2022 general election.
She, however, clarified that she is not ready to work with him as a running mate this time round suggesting that he should instead consider supporting her bid.
“Am I ready to work with Raila? Yes, but not backing him, perhaps his backing and it is not just with Raila but any other Kenyan because we belong to the same country,” she said during an interview with Citizen TV.
“I can support someone but I am not going to support them as a running mate.”
Speaking on Wednesday, Karua said she wants to work with other like-minded leaders.
“We want to redeem this country and transform it to serve Kenyans not a few,” she stated.
Karua is set to launch a new political outfit-People’s Liberation Party (PLP), formerly Narc Kenya.
On his part, ODM leader Raila Odinga is yet to disclose his next political move following his unsuccessful run in the Africa Union Commission election.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday when he held talks with President Ruto, the ODM leader said he would be consulting his supporters from across the country before making public his next move.
It remains unclear whether he will be contesting again in the 2027 general election.
On Tuesday, the ODM party leader began his consultative meetings in Kisumu by engaging the youth.
"I will not confine myself to Nyanza alone. After this, I will visit other parts of Kenya," he said.
He announced that before the end of next week, he will make a statement after concluding his consultation tour.
