This week began with activities ranging from political, social and international events.

The week saw President William Ruto spend a weeklong development tour in the coastal region.

This is even Narc Kenya Party rebranded to People’s Liberation Party.

As this happened, Radio Africa Group staff treated their CEO, Martin Khafafa, to a surprise birthday party at the office.

Karua’s Liberation Party

Martha Karua’s NARC-Kenya Party will now be referred to as the People’s Liberation Party.

Karua rebranded the party at an event attended by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Karua said there is a need for unity of purpose to ensure prosperity and for elected leaders to prioritize service delivery.

Ruto's Coast tour

President William Ruto interacts with students in class in Mombasa County/PCS.

President William Ruto embarked on a weeklong tour of the coastal counties, marking his first visit to the region in seven months.

The tour, which began on Friday, February 21, saw the President traverse six coastal counties to launch new projects and commission completed ones.

Ruto said that it is the Kenya Kwanza administration that will transform the Coast region.

The president said the region has been left behind for many years.

He went on to say that the region has also been despised, neglected, and discriminated against over the years and this will not be the case under his tenure.

Ruto meets outgoing Indonesian Ambassador

The President met Hery Saripudin at State House, Mombasa.

Murkomen meets CJ Koome

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday met Chief Justice Martha Koome where the two held discussions on how they would collaborate in strengthening the security of the judiciary and judicial officers.

CS Murkomen said other discussions centered around partnerships on the implementation of traffic reforms which are meant to enhance safety and security on roads and decongest the courts cases.

The CEO recently turned 50.

The moment saw staff enjoy cake as they popped champagne to celebrate Khafafa's birthday.
