The high court will today issue directions in a case in which three men were abducted in Mlolongo in December 2023.
The last time the matter was in court, the Director of Public Prosecutions was removed from the case after successfully arguing that his office was not involved in the investigations.
Justice Chacha Mwita subsequently gave the petitioners among them the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) 14 days to file and serve their amended petition.
The state and other respondents in the case were also given 14 days to file and serve their responses if need be.
The judge then said the matter should be mentioned today (March 12) for further directions.
In January 2025, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and DCI Mohamed Amin appeared in court and denied having the 'missing individuals' in their custody. They told the court that investigations were ongoing.
Two of them werelater found dead.
The body of Martin Mwau was found at the Nairobi Funeral home (formerly city mortuary) in the same place where the body of Mutumwa Musyoki was found.
It emerged that the bodies were allegedly delivered to the mortuary on December 17, a day after their abduction from the Mlolongo area.
Busia Governor Sis Peter Ojamong's case
An anti-corruption court is to mention the Sh8 million graft case facing former Busia Governor Sis Peter Ojamong.
Ojaamong, his co-accused persons Bernard Aite, Leonard Wanda, Allan Omachari, Samwel Oseko, Edan Odoo, Renish Omullo, Sebasian Hallensben and Madam R Enterprises (MRE) were 2018 charged with conspiracy to commit an economic crime.
Ojaamong is separately charged with engaging in a project without prior planning and abuse of office.
Others are accused of wilfully failing to comply with the law relating to the management of funds. They are said to have knowingly approved payments amounting to Sh8,000,000 to Madam R Enterprises Ltd for a feasibility study on solid waste management, a project for which funding had not been appropriated.
