Nairobi residents woke up to heavy rains on Wednesday morning.
The downpour, which began at different times across various areas of the city, disrupted traffic and caused delays for those heading to work and school.
The rains had been predicted by the Kenya Meteorological Department in their recent forecasts.
“Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country. Isolated heavy rainfall events are likely in some areas,” the Kenya Met said in a statement on Sunday.
In addition to Nairobi, Met said other regions expected to experience rainfall include Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, the Central Highlands, the Lake Victoria Basin, parts of the South-Eastern Lowlands, as well as parts of the Coast, North-Eastern, and North-Western Kenya.
The department urged Kenyans to stay informed and take necessary precautions, particularly in areas prone to heavy rainfall and temperature fluctuations.
