
Detectives in Meru are hunting down a man believed to have savagely hacked to death his wife of many years, after a domestic argument.
The body
of the woman aged 45 was found dumped under a culvert along Therone-Kiuma
Murram road, just hours after the couple was seen heading home from Therone
market while engaging in a heated argument in Ikuua.
It is believed that the suspect who was at the time armed with a panga,
turned against his wife in the cover of darkness, inflicting fatal cuts on her
neck on Monday, March 24.
After the heinous act, he holed up to evade justice.
The police want to establish the motive of the fatal attack.
Locals woke up to a horrendous scene of the lifeless body of a mother, relative and friend soaked in blood.
The suspect is still in hiding, police said adding a hunt on him is ongoing.
Elsewhere in Suneka, Kisii County, a decomposing body of a man was found hanging on a tree after suspected murder.
Police
said the body was found hanging with a mosquito net material tied around the
neck.
Upon
examining the body it had already started decomposing with physical injury on
the head and eyes chopped off.
The state
of the body revealed that the incident might have occurred at an unknown place
and the body was brought to the scene.
The body
was moved to Ogembo hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.
Police
said they are investigating murder.
In the
same area, one Charles Ombongi, Onsarigo, 55 died after collapsing in his
house.
The cause
of the death is yet to be established, police said of the March 22 incident.
The body
was taken to a local mortuary pending autopsy.
In
Butere, Kakamega, the body of Eric Abuye Mahuyu, 18 was found on the roadside
after suspected murder.
Police
said the body was discovered in Emasinde village along Sabatia-Bululu road.
Police
said the deceased was found with multiple cuts on the head and body.
There
were no bloodstains nor any offensive weapon at the scene, which indicated it
was a secondary scene, police said.
The body
was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police said they are investing murder in the incident and no arrest has been made so far.
