National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), has announced that they are experiencing system downtime.

In a statement on Tuesday, NTSA said they are working to restore functionality.

“Dear esteemed clients, we are currently experiencing a system downtime, and our services are temporarily unavailable,” NTSA said.

NTSA assured that their technical team is working to resolve the issue and restore full functionality as soon as possible.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Will notify you once the system is back on,” NTSA added.

NTSA is the agency responsible for regulating and overseeing road safety, traffic management and the implementation of policies related to transport.

It is established under the Traffic Act and NTSA Act of 2012, and plays a crucial role in ensuring that road transport in the country is safe, efficient and well-regulated.

Its core mandate includes road safety management, where it is tasked with promoting road safety through campaigns, education and awareness programs to reduce accidents and fatalities.

NTSA manages the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles and drivers meet the required safety standards.

This includes issuing driving licenses, motor vehicle registration, and conducting inspections.

The authority is responsible for implementing transport policies and regulations set by the government to improve road safety and transport infrastructure.

It also enforces traffic regulations, working closely with other law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with road safety rules.

This includes ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy, drivers are qualified, and road laws are followed.

Further, the authority conducts regular inspections of motor vehicles to ensure they are in good condition and meet environmental and safety standards.

NTSA collects and analyses traffic data to identify trends in road accidents and other traffic-related issues, which help inform future policies and interventions.

The authority oversees the operation of public transport systems, ensuring that the vehicles are safe and that the drivers and conductors are properly trained.

NTSA develops and implements programs aimed at reducing accidents, improving driver behavior, and ensuring the safety of pedestrians and other road users.
