President William Ruto's tour of Mt Kenya enters its last leg today with a planned visit to Tharaka Nithi.
Ruto who will be accompanied by his Deputy Kithure Kindiki and other elected leaders from the region is set to launch several projects, assess the ongoing ones and commission others.
He will commence the tour in Mbeere South constituency in the morning where he is set to inspect the works at the Kiambere bulk water supply project before crossing over Tharaka constituency.
He is also scheduled to visit Runyenjes, Maara and later conclude at Chuka-Igamba Ng'ombe constituency.
The tour which commenced Tuesday has seen him traverse six counties of Laikipia, Nyeri, Meru, Murang'a, Kirinyaga, and Nyandarua.
PSs vetting
The newly appointed Principal Secretaries are set to appear today before the respective National Assembly committees for grilling.
Last week, parliament released a schedule detailing the dates and relevant committees tasked with conducting the process. 
Among those to be vetted today are Jane Imbunya, the nominee for appointment as PS, State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Bonface Makokha and Cyrell Wagunda as PSs for the State Department for Economic Planning and State Department for Public Investments and Asset Management respectively and Stephen Isaboke, nominee for the position of PS, State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications.

Others are Abdisalan Ibrahim, the nominee for the position of PS, State Department for National Government Co-ordination in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Abdulrazak Shaukat nominated as PS, State Department for Science, Research & Innovation, Ministry of Education.

Some other nominees will be vetted on Monday before the committees table their reports on the floor of the House on Tuesday for consideration.

Family Court Open Day event

The Chief Magistrate’s Family Court, Milimani, will hold an Open Day which will commence with a street procession from Uhuru Park at 8:30 am marching to Milimani Law Courts.

Thereafter the formal event will be held at Milimani Ceremonial Hall from 10 am to 12:30 pm.

High Court event

The High Court will host an event dubbed ‘Closing of the file for the Late Justice David Majanja and the Late Justice Daniel Ogembo’ at the Milimani Ceremonial Hall from 2 pm – 4 pm.

Tributes will be paid and a formal court session held to close the file for the two fallen jurists.
