After an intense week of development-focused engagements in the Mt Kenya region and high-level meetings in Nairobi, President William Ruto took time to unwind at his farm.
Ruto was seen enjoying a moment of calm and connection with the land he often refers to as grounding.
The visit to his home residence on Monday followed a packed schedule that included international meetings and key national initiatives.
April 6 (Sunday)
Before a visit to his Uasin Gishu farm, he held talks with US President Donald Trump’s Senior Advisor Massad Boulos at State House.
During the meeting, he underscored the strong cooperation it enjoys with the USA.
He stated that they are committed to stepping up these ties, especially in the areas of trade, investment, food security and stability in the Horn of Africa, for our mutual success.
April 8 (Tuesday)
He met the CEO and founder of the world’s top business process outsourcing firm, TelePerformance, Daniel Julien.
During the meeting, he said, Julien revealed plans to roll out operations and to create several jobs for the youth in the country. The firm, he stated, is setting up shop, and considering Kenya, as its African headquarters.
April 9 (Wednesday)
He officially opened the World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit 2025, which brought together delegates from more than 70 countries.
In his address, Ruto said they are streamlining business processes to foster a more efficient and investor-friendly environment where enterprises can thrive.
He noted, “By putting our ears to the concerns of our entrepreneurs, via the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are enhancing the ease of doing business in the country.”

Later at State House, he met business executives from Turkiye led by World Chambers Federation President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu who is also the Turkiye Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges President.
According to the Head of State, Kenya is open to investors especially in manufacturing, agricultural value addition and in special economic zones.
To facilitate investment, he said, they are improving the ease of doing business, upgrading the core infrastructure and sharpening the knowledge, skills and competencies of our young people. Also present was the Turkiye Ambassador to Kenya, Subutay Yuksel.
He also held a strategy session with top officials from the Ministry of Roads led by Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
During the meeting, he received a brief on the Nairobi County Urban Renewal and Regeneration Programme. Ruto said his government is committed to transforming Nairobi into a more livable, accessible, and modern city.

He stated that through the programme, they have embarked on a collaborative effort with the county government to revitalise the city.
The ongoing initiative includes the rehabilitation of 161km of roads and walkways across Nairobi.
“This bold intervention goes beyond infrastructure; it’s about restoring dignity, improving mobility, and shaping the shared future of our capital city,” he said.

April 11 (Friday)
At State House, he met leaders from Turkana County for consultations.
The talks, he said, centered on programmes and projects being undertaken in the county. He noted that frequent engagement with elected leaders is crucial as we implement our Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
“The Government is ensuring that no part of Kenya is left behind as we continue with our journey to transform the country.”
He later conducted an inspection tour of the Talanta Stadium that is under construction at Jamhuri grounds along Ngong road.
The Sh44.7 billion facility will be completed on February 28, 2026.
Ruto expressed satisfaction with the progress in the construction works, noting it will significantly elevate the country's sports profile. The President said 3,300 workers have been hired at the stadium, with 2,000 working during the day, while 1,300 are engaged at night in the 60,000-seater facility.
"With this pace, the Talanta Sports City, with a football pitch while outside the stadium is an athletic field and rugby training grounds, will be ready by December 2025," he said.
He pointed out that investment in physical infrastructure, including affordable housing, modern markets and special economic zones, has so far employed 250,000 people across the country.
"This is how we are going to build our nation by harnessing knowledge, skills and the expertise of our youth," said President Ruto.
Therafter, at State House, he received the report on the helicopter crash that claimed the life of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla. It was presented to him by Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya.
Present were CDF General Charles Kahariri, Vice CDF Lt-General John Omenda and Kenya Airforce Commander Major-General Fatuma Ahmed.
The report states that engine failure caused the crash.
